SHEET EXTRUSION

Sherwood Industries is a proud manufacturer of extruded thermoplastics plastics and rubbers. Sheet extrusion is the specialized process that allows for efficient practices in the die cutting industry.

Sheet extrusion is the process of extruding a thermoplastic through a sheet die. This creates a thermoplastic sheet that can have a pattern or finish applied to it. After being extruded, the thermoplastic sheet goes through a series of fans and conveyors to complete the cooling process. We wind the thermoplastic sheet onto PVC cores that will eventually end up at a die-cutting facility. We cut your thermoplastic sheet to the optimal width for your application and can offer a weight limit or a certain amount of feet per roll.

We are able to extrude a variety of materials including TPE's, TPO's, SEBS and more. Our most popular sheet product is made from Santoprene™ Thermoplastic Vulcanizate (TPV) from Celanese. This is a high-performance elastomer that provides consistent performance across automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

WHAT WE EXTRUDE

SHERWOOD’S CAPABILITIES

We can extrude sheet from 0.020” to 0.250” (0.6 mm to 6.3mm) thick. We offer widths between 6” to 36”. Our extruded sheet can be wound onto 3″ or 6″ PVC cores. Our machinery allows for flexibility on the amount of linear feet wound on each roll or a certain weight limit per roll.  With four patterns and color matching capabilities, we can provide you with a customized product for your application. We can accommodate orders ranging from 500 pounds to truckloads, shipped worldwide.

Our newest technology is laminating a PP, PE, or PET film to the back of our TPE products. This creates a corona treatable surface for the application of pressure sensitive adhesives.
